FINALLY found it today after multiple trips to different Walmarts around town - the new Hidden Valley Ranch flavored ice cream by Van Leeuwen.

Yes, I was the weirdo in the grocery store today taking pictures in the salad dressing aisle and the freezer end cap.

This limited release flavor along with six others is sold exclusively at Walmart locations nationwide and only available from March 20 through May 28.

Opening the container, it looks like typical ice cream with vanilla bean speckles. But don’t be tempted to smell it because that would definitely spoil the upcoming surprise.

Now the moment of truth with a full spoonful. The first taste is confusing because you immediately get BOTH a creamy sweet vanilla bean and a tangy onion garlic flavor. And yes, it smells and tastes like a sweet frozen version of the popular dip.

Honestly, it tasted better than I expected it would. Then we had a great idea and grabbed some potato chips and guess what?

It was even BETTER. Now I’m wondering how this would be with carrots and veggies.

It’s definitely a successful marketing gimmick because we already love Hidden Valley dressing and now we're familiar with the Van Leeuwen ice cream products.
