A Treasure Trove of Classic Triump sports cars was revealed in a South Tampa storage yard. Located behind a row of nondescript warehouses is an outdoor storage yard that I’ve driven by countless times and never really noticed the small fenced area on the north side of the building.
That was until a windy day lifted the privacy screen revealing the hidden collection.
Just behind the screen and chain link fence is a literal time capsule with dozens of classic European cars, including Triumph TR4s, Morris Minors and Spitfires.
The Triumph TR4 sport cars were produced by the Triumph Motor Company between 1961 and 1967. A quick online search to Classic.com shows the average value of a restored Triumph TR4 is $23,724.
Most all of the vehicles are in poor condition, probably due to Florida’s extreme weather and our harsh tropical sun.
Restoration will be an expensive challenge even for an experienced professional. Anyone up to the task definitely needs a detailed step-by-step restoration manual. It’s unknown how many years these vehicles have been squirreled away in the back section of this storage lot. But sadly for most of them, this may be their final parking space.
You never know where you’ll find hidden treasures like these. Sometimes they’re right in your neighborhood or backyard. Only time will tell what the owner has planned for these forgotten beauties.
