We are always exploring Downtown Tampa and have been hearing a lot about SuperNatural Food & Wine (Celebrity Chef Alton Brown said it was the “Best breakfast sandwich ever” in a recent Creative Loafing interview). This small take-out spot is located around the corner from The Hub (more on that unique Tampa dive bar in another post) and Jeff was looking for ‘second breakfast’. Yes, you heard that right. Second breakfast is a small snack consisting of breakfast comfort foods. Usually, fresh Cuban toast or cheese toast does the trick, but we were around the corner from SuperNatural Food & Wine.
This ‘Small but mighty’ (phrase taken from their website) take-out spot offers breakfast, lunch, SourDonuts & coffee. Lunch offerings are sandwiches, wraps, and salads with some vegan options. If you are a wine lover, they do have an assortment of bottles. Check our their Natural wines here.
There’s a small section inside for dining and if weather permits, outside seating is an option. The décor is clean and minimal, but the food is the star here.
Jeff ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, Fresh Sullivan St. Focaccia Bread Roll, Egg, Cheese, and Bacon and they also added a katsup based sauce.
The roll was really fresh (oh, we split the sandwich) and the focaccia made for a hearty bite.
We ordered two eggs and one strip of bacon, but you can add on extra eggs and meat.
The prices are reasonable, the staff was friendly, and the food was fresh and tasty. We are definitely going to stop by SuperNatural Food & Wine for breakfast again, but this time for first breakfast (haha). We also are eyeing the donuts and Peanut Butter, Banana & Maple Sandwich.
SuperNatural Food & Wine is located at 305 E. Polk St Tampa, FL 33602. They are closed on Sunday and serve breakfast Monday-Saturday. You can check out their full menu and order online here.
