Tucked away in the Riverside Park neighborhood of Ft. Lauderdale, just off the historic Snow -Reed Swing Bridge in Sailboat Bend you will find Riverside Market. One of several of their locations in Broward County (and they also own Tarpon River Brewing).
This original location touts “We invented the honor system”. This concept is actually one to take note of as it’s really outside of the box thinking. All bottles and cans are ‘self serve’ and you pay on your way out. They just count up your empties, add to your check and you pay on the way out.
Sounds simple but when you add the chill vibe of the place, complete with sofas, community tables and some of most eclectic decor around, it feels like you are hanging out in someone’s living room. This also allows you to get your next beer a lot quicker, since you can just walk up to the coolers and grab it. Well, there are 650 beers to look through, so that could take a while.
There a quite a few craft beers on tap too, but those are not self serve, they pour those for you (good choice there). Their menu has grown over the years with breakfast (yes, you can get beer with you egg sandwich early in the morning). Burgers, pizza, and sandwiches are also on the menu which pairs well with all that beer for lunch/dinner.
