Goody Goody Burgers - A Tampa Original

Goody Goody has been a Tampa Original since 1925. Yes, you read that right, 1925! Goody Goody was even billed as the first drive-in restaurant east of the Mississippi. The original restaurant closed in 2005, but Richard Gonzmart purchased the restaurant rights in 2005. Gozmart knows restaurants and history. The family owns other Tampa Originals like The Columbia, Ulele, and more.

The new location in Tampa’s Hyde Park Village opened in 2016 and not only brought the Goody Goody name back, but also set off a wave of redevelopment and renovations at the Hyde Park Village shopping area.

The inside is retro/modern diner decor with cool iconic greens with counter seating, booths, tables, and lots of patio space. They even have a few of the original chairs from the original location from 1925!

The menu spans breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.

All of the pies are made in house and on full display at the counter. TIP- order your holiday pie well in advance.

We usually stop in for breakfast/brunch and try to get there early to beat the line. This visit we ordered the turkey sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on Cuban toast.

And also ordered the fried chicken breast with gravy on a biscuit. Fries are extra but worth the splurge.
