BREAKING NEWS 3/16/22: 81Bay Brewing posted on their social media today that “We're moving, but we'll have multiple taprooms opening in 2023, also we'll be reopening on Gandy in 2024. It's super complicated. Please stay tuned for more info. Bottom line right now is that the current taproom will close in June. More announcements coming soon.” Time to get those last visits in! We hope their new locations are smooth sailing and ahead of schedule.
81Bay Brewing Company has been a local favorite since they opened in 2016 in a strip mall on the corner of Gandy Blvd and Manhattan. Anyone that know us can count on running into us enjoying a Sun Viking IPA on the weekends here.
The brewery is huge covering about 17,000 square feet. They have a separate events space in back and the Taproom covers roughly 4,500 square feet.
81Bay has highlights local artists not only with art hanging on the walls (to purchase), but the whole brewery is a huge artist mural. You have got to see it for yourself to take It all in. Any kid will love the undersea video feature and the 3D art. Be sure to catch their Art After Dark event!
81Bay has you covered with lots of craft beer selections on the menu. Lagers, stouts, sours and IPA make for tasty flights and they even have hard seltzer options.
81Bay hosts food trucks on occasion and holds some Food Truck Rallies, but they recently started offering their own thin crust pizzas! They come fresh out of the oven and rival some popular restaurants around Tampa.
We usually order the meat lovers pizza or the pepperoni. One is big enough for two to share. They usually are servicing pizza nightly and lunch/dinner on weekends.
The Beertenders are some of the best around and can definitely help you find the perfect beer. 81Bay has lots of special events all through the week and on weekends. Live music is a given (A Traveling Gentleman, a local favorite musician can often be found on stage) and they also host some pretty large special events. 81Bay sells crowlers and growlers of any beers on tap and they also have a grab and go cooler.
